What is the secret to the BEST CASSEROLES EVER? Well, aside from all the love you put into ’em, it should be the CREAM-iness factor. Wouldn’t you agree? I mean casseroles are the best and easiest dish when you’re wanting comfort food, a potluck dish, one to share with a family or a new mommy that doesn’t have the time or energy to focus on a meal. Casseroles rule! To me, casserole season is all the time. I love their versatility! They’re the least complex dish to prepare. You just toss all these wonderful ingredients in one pan and voila!
So how do I get the “A+” creaminess in my casseroles? By not using canned “cream of” soups. Seriously!
Canned varieties are mainly loaded with MSG’s and have significantly increased in price over the years. You’re paying for what? Preservatives! Instead, try out this dry soup mix.
You can substitute it in any of your recipes calling for cream of mushroom, cream of celery, cream of chicken, etc. Even in your green bean casserole. Honestly! Your dishes will be absolutely more delicious than ever!
It tastes so much better than the canned stuff and this recipe makes several cups. *Way cheaper than canned soups.
I want you to try this recipe and try it in your favorite casserole dish. Better yet, sample it in my Poppy Seed Chicken Casserole. (You can just substitute the dry mix for the can of chicken soup it calls for.)
Mix you up a batch of this and tell my your thoughts on it!
If you’re wanting a bowl of cream of mushroom soup, follow the recipe and then add fresh mushrooms. If you want a bowl of cream of chicken, same thing, just add fresh chicken to it.
