Since I was posting earlier about color… I thought I would pass some tricks along to you in regards to painting. I wish I could go back and keep track of how many walls I have painted along the way. But sometimes old dogs can learn new tricks and here are some that will save you a few bucks… (especially if you paint a lot like I do)!
I was fixin’ to paint my dining room and remembered that I didn’t have tray liners and I was in my painting garb-attire and there was no way I was going to hit the pause button and head over to Lowe’s. So I grabbed my foil and lined the tray and taped it down with painters tape. Brills!!! Worked like magic and in the long run- it’s cheaper. When you’re done, just remove the foil and your tray is ready for the next project! Wish I had figured that out many years ago!!!
Another tip, when you have the leftover paint in the gallon bucket but only have less than a quart or so – fill up a smaller container, label it with room and paint color and you won’t need as much shelf space! FINAL tip… you know those wonderful new little small “SAMPLE” paints? they run about $2.95 and they can tint it ANY color you want. They are perfect for smaller areas and paint projects. I bought 2 of these and spent $5 vs. the $12.95 for a quart for my hall alcove leading into my Master bedroom.
Happy painting——now off to start on my guest bedroom walls!
