Just got back from a visit to my Sweets n L’s place. I sure had a WONDERFUL time!!! I needed a dose of them so off I went. 9.5 hours later I was enjoyin’ cooler temps, beautiful scenery, delicious cooking and beautiful family time.
There’s a lot to be said about small town living! I love everything about ’em! And this little town…. well, I fell in ♥ with it the first time I ever visited it and it hasn’t disappointed. Mayberry deluxe – in the most complimentary way!
S took part of the day off one day, so we got to go have lunch and we did some antiquing. The next day, I met up with her and her class for the homecoming parade on main street. (All the students get to go and cheer-on the high school team for their homecoming festivities), how cool is that? (S even made all her students some “cheer rattle wands”—she’s the coolest teacher EVER)!
While S was finishing up w/her class duties, I went to visit some friends in town, then in the evening we headed to the homecoming football game (I had no idea there are so many young couples and children that lived there, I have always just thought of it as a college town). That made my ♥ happy to see that!!!
Saturday, it was family day and L drove us to the Amish Mum Farm! We stopped for lunch, a little bit more of antiquing, and even a sonic stop for our zen… “mint green tea”!
The kids house is totally getting ready for the Fall. S has her awesome door wreath that she made on display, (sorry you can’t see it better in the pic), and then she planted all the beautiful mums she bought in the antique washtubs. One of the pictures shows the backyard that has a little corner vignette and I just loved everything about it… including the sign “all ♥’s come home for Christmas”!
The Amish were busy with treks into town with pumpkins, gourds, baskets, mums and more of their wares.
Once we got out to the mum farm – we could see they were pretty picked over. Luckily, S n L found some good ones! The day started out wet ‘n chilly but perfect for S’s homemade corn soup for dinner.
Always hard to leave our babies behind, but I loved every minute of my visit! The scenery was beautiful- especially this time of year! Clear skies, the cool brisk air, and knowing that more family time is right around the corner with the holidays not too far in the distance.
Thank you kids for a most wonderful time— ♥ you mucho!
