Casa GCC has been busy as is typical this time of year.  But we are holiday ready with diy’s and more!  I’ll start with our very first trip to a Tree Farm for the family Christmas tree(s).

holiday ready with diy's

We had a beautiful day as we headed out and we found some perfect trees!

The fun continued into the evening when we attended the town Christmas parade.

The rest of the week involved baking for neighbor treats.

Homemade salsa for gifts for the mail carrier and UPS man and others!  (We have to hand those out early before the crazy starts or they’ll never get done.)

Then on to an afternoon of making holiday ornaments with our grandson!

While making sure we have a cocoa bar ready for him with extra marshmallows!

The cocoa bar consists of a great, creamy hot cocoa mix, marshmallows, peppermint shavings, a teapot, and the cutest enamelware mugs perfect for a little man and the best cup of hot cocoa!

I wanted to share my recipe for the creamiest hot cocoa mix you can make and it makes the perfect gift too!  And since my decor theme includes black and white check this year,

I designed the cutest printable gift tags around that theme and you can print and use for your gift giving.

So for the diy’s…

here’s the recipe for my version of the creamiest hot cocoa mix.

Print Recipe

Creamiest Hot Cocoa Mix

Ingredients

  • 25 ounce powdered non-fat milk
  • 2/3 C. COCOA powder
  • 1 16 ounce powdered FRENCH VANILLA coffee creamer
  • 1.5 cups powdered sugar

Instructions

  • Add all ingredients in a large bowl
  • Combine well. Store in an airtight container.
  • To make the hot chocolate: Add ½ cup (more or less depending on how rich you like it) to 1 cup boiling (or very hot) water. Water has to be hot enough or it won't mix well!
  • Makes about 16 cups.

And you can click HERE for these very cute custom printable gift tags!  Just print of on cardstock for a more durable tag.

Our son will be here in a few days so we are excited about seeing him and we will be busy with lots of holiday fun.

Why even Santa is on standby at Casa GCC!

I love the cocoa bar idea. This would be great at the office as well.
