Jump to Recipe Print Recipe

Have you ever made your own homemade buns?  Cause if you haven’t,  your life is about to change. We do lots of summer grillin’ happens around GCC to avoid having the oven on.  Along with loving these buns you’re also going to love that your oven will be on for a very short time for these.  This recipe is very versatile in that you can use the dough to make burger buns, dog buns, or regular rolls.  Burgers taste way better nestled in these!

HOMEMADE BUNS

Ingredients

  • 1 1/4 c. milk warm
  • 1 beaten egg
  • 2 T. butter
  • 1/4 c. sugar
  • 1 t. salt
  • 3 3/4 c. bread flour
  • 1 1/14 t. dry yeast

Instructions

  • Combine your milk, beaten egg and butter in a medium bowl. Mix together and pour into bread machine canister. In another bowl, combine the dry ingredients and gently pour on top of the liquid. Make a small well in center and sprinkle the yeast. Select the dough setting on the bread machine and turn on. When complete, spread dough onto floured surface combine a little. Pull off small balls (the size of your palm) and place on parchment lined sheet. Brush tops with melted butter, cover and allow to rise 1 hour. *I don't cover mine, I just place the sheet in the oven with the oven light on for the duration specified. Bake at 350 for 9-10 minutes. (Might take slightly longer, depending on your oven.) Allow to cool for about 4-5 minutes before slicing in half.
