Happy Monday! This week I’m sharing this cute little hutch/curio cabinet project. Last year I decided on gathering some things that I could re-purpose, paint, and work on to help me survive the winter. This little hutch cabinet was one of my finds. Little did I know that I would love the winter as much as I did and that I would have no time to work on it. I also decided to wait to see what kind of home we would end up with and how I would use this cabinet. Fast forward to now and I’m here to share the end result. A hutch makeover with bun feet fun project.
This is a hutch BEFORE look. The girl that I bought it from, got it form her grandmother and after several years, she no longer really had a purpose for it. My win.
With four shelves and 3 bottom drawers, this cute storage cabinet would come in handy. And those cute arches—it deserved a makeover!
I decided on a farmhouse style look. To achieve that look, it would need paint and I thought of adding some cute bun feet. I had previously found these cute decorative bun feet when I couldn’t decide on which ones to use on my kitchen island. They worked perfectly for this project.
Changing out the old drawer knobs with these cute ones I had left over from another project, added fun detail.

What I did:
After some coats of antique white chalk paint, I sanded random areas to expose the dark stain underneath. That was followed with some antiquing in various areas and sealing wax. I drilled four holes to attach the plates in which to anchor the bun feet to. Viola!!! We had a whole new piece!
For now, it’s home is in the upstairs foyer and filled with knick-knacks. It will get re-arranged often but it will be fun to have this piece be a part of our home now.
Adding bun feet are a great addition – don’t you think? They can really add some great dimension to a piece.
Have an awesome week my friends!
