Introducing our new home (100 year old home)

07.17.18

Introducing our new home (100 year old home).  An Italianate Victorian built in the 1880’s.  She’s over 100 years old and she will also serve as a bed and breakfast called the Peppermill B&B!  We finally closed on this beauty on the 6th of July and have since been busy, busy, busy, trying to get her looking more fabulous than when we found her!  Hence, why it’s been so long since my last post.

Why Peppermill, I’ve been asked? I love Peppermill’s and my husband loved the name as well but when we first considered the notion of running a B&B and we were thinking of a name, I thought of a Peppermill. They’ve always reminded me of a woman’s silhouette and a Peppermill is made to work hard and do a tough job.  Just like this grand lady that has withstood the test of time, she certainly has the characteristics of a fine Peppermill.

In the meantime we have already gotten several projects going and wanted to share this beauty with my readers.  We are so excited and so thankful for this blessing.  You can read more on my previous post here.  Boo has been busy taking care of the landscaping, the exterior and numerous other projects.  My SIL and him cleared out a huge section of shrubs, and plants to make way for the new and allow for better drainage around the exterior of the house.  Little man even helped grandpa with some of the shoveling.

I have been busy removing the countless nails, scrubbing walls, cleaning and getting walls ready for painting.  As well as polishing the wood floors, hanging blinds, and unpacking.  This is seriously my favorite part about moving–the decorating!  Here are some more pics I was able to take before we actually filled the house up with boxes!

This cool little room will be Boo’s bunkhouse where the kids can come and hang with grandpa!

This home has so many beautiful features and lots of storage…

I don’t think I can honestly justify complaining about not having enough room to store our belongings!

As soon as I get the rooms ready, we should be able to update those at our website and make it live and ready for people to start booking a visit with us!  I hope you will follow us along at the Peppermill B&B and/or Instagram for all future updates & news.  Then we hope you come for a visit!

In the meantime, we will be busy getting things ready, removing wallpaper, painting, decorating and landscaping. Stop by anytime you want to help! LOL. Boo and I are always ready for a good time!
