HELLO loves! Been awhile. Before I fill you in on Cast Iron Delicious – ness, can I share some happy news?
Gully Creek Cottage has recently been selected as one of the top 200 lifestyle blogs out there!
Exciting huh? Pretty pumped about that! Might not be that big of a deal to everyone but blogging is hard work and therefore—yay us!
Back to happily busy, happily getting motivated and happily cooking. I’m just assuming everyone has been as busy as we have. At casa GCC we have been getting super antsy about closing on our new place and moving on. But I always assume some things, such as assuming that everyone owns a cast iron skillet. If you don’t—you should. If you have one and it’s tucked away in the very back of your kitchen cupboard…pull it out. My cast iron pan has been around since the day I got married (37 years ago) and I use it very often.
It’s versatile and cooks up some of the very best desserts, entrees, breads, and so much more that I can’t even begin to tell ya! I made an apple peach cobbler the other day that was amazing! I’ve been told that you can make the best fried chicken in one but to be honest, I don’t fry foods, so I’ll take others word for it.
Many a time I’ve made my favorite thing to cook up in them… my sweet potato biscuits.
This time around, I’m sharing some Rosemary Garlic Skillet Rolls that are to die for! Of course you can bake them in a regular cake pan but trust me when I tell you that you won’t get the same DELICIOUS result. (Flower power!)
So about these rolls… they aren’t entirely from scratch cause I cheat and use the frozen yeast rolls you find in the freezer section. You can certainly make them from scratch but who has time for that?
Cast Iron Delicious-ness
The end result- buttery, soft, flaky, melt in your mouth cast iron delicious-ness!!! You might want to do two pans cause chances are when dinner time rolls around- you’ll have a bread-less meal!
I hope you’ll enjoy these as much as we do. Aside from letting the dough rise for several hours, this is a very easy recipe and they really are tasty!
Now for some packing and more packing! Cheers~
