Best Ever Waffles


  • 2 cups all-purpose flour or my new fave...white wheat
  • 1 t salt
  • 4 t baking powder
  • 2 T sugar
  • 2 eggs
  • 1 1/2 cups warm milk
  • 1 t vinegar
  • 1/3 cup butter melted
  • 1 t vanilla
  • Pinch of nutmeg


  • In a large bowl, mix together flour, salt, baking powder, sugar and nutmeg; set aside.
  • Preheat waffle iron to desired temperature.
  • In a separate bowl, beat the eggs.
  • Pour milk and vinegar in a small measuring cup and allow to sit for 5 minutes, then stir in melted butter and vanilla.
  • Pour milk mixture into the eggs and combine well.
  • Pour the milk/egg mixture into the flour mixture; beat until blended.
  • Ladle the batter into a preheated waffle iron.
  • Cook the waffles until golden and crisp.
  • Serve immediately.
